President Nikos Christodoulides will meet union leaders today to discuss the Cost of Living Adjustment (CoLA/ATA).
The meeting comes a day after his contact with employer organisation representatives, during which the framework and prospects of the ATA were discussed. The president’s aim is to shape a commonly acceptable proposal ahead of the upcoming review of the mechanism.
As Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis said on X yesterday, following Friday’s meeting between the finance and labour ministers and union and employer organisations, during which a framework of convergence on dialogue about the ATA was shaped and initially accepted by union leaders, President Christodoulides held a meeting last night with employer organisation leaders, in the presence of the finance and labour ministers.
During the meeting, the spokesman said, the framework for the ATA as it has been shaped was discussed, along with tax reform and broader economic issues.
He noted that employer organisations are planning a joint meeting on Wednesday to take their final decision regarding the ATA.
The president will hold a corresponding meeting with union leaders on Monday, the spokesman concluded.
