A celebration showcasing Filipino culture, traditions and cuisine will take place at Nicosia Municipal Gardens, organised by several community organisations.
The event, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 6, will feature traditional Filipino singing and dancing performances alongside authentic Filipino cuisine in an open-air setting.
The celebration is free to attend and open to the public, with organisers encouraging attendees to bring “energy, curiosity, and appetite” to experience Filipino cultural traditions firsthand.
The event is part of the Unity in Diversity project, coordinated by Solidarity Cy and co-funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps. It is organised with the support of Mission Solidarity CY, the Federation of Filipino Organisations in Cyprus, and the European Network of Filipino Diaspora – Cyprus.
The Filipino community represents one of several significant diaspora populations in Cyprus. According to the latest population census, as of 2022, approximately 18,000 Filipino nationals live in Cyprus.
