On Sunday, March 23, 2025, the OPAP Limassol Marathon kicked off at 7 a.m., with over 5,000 runners taking part in the event.
The race began in the Epichosis area, heading west along the coastal road towards Franklin Roosevelt Street, passing through the New Port roundabout and the parallel road leading to the ‘Lady’s Mile’ roundabout. The route continued along the road in front of the ‘My Mall’ shopping centre, reaching the Franklin Roosevelt roundabout, then heading further west towards the village of Asomatos. The course turned at the junction near the entrance of the Water Park, retracing the same path along the coastal road back towards the traffic lights at the intersection of Amathus Avenue and Ayioi Saranda Street, near the Elias Hotel. The route then took a final turn and returned to the Epichosis area for the finish.
From 6 a.m. until 2 p.m., the entire coastal stretch mentioned above will be closed to traffic. Roads will reopen gradually, depending on the progress of the athletes.
Drivers are urged to be especially cautious, follow traffic signs, heed police instructions, and observe traffic diversions during the event.
