A distortion or social challenge in this case, such as multiple pensions, cannot be fixed with PR tricks designed to create impressions. Because that’s essentially what the government bill on multiple pensions submitted to Parliament is about.
The state is proposing to provide as a lump sum what it previously gave as a pension to a state official for their service to the state, who will rightfully also receive a pension from their professional work.
Is this really a fix? At the end of the day, if the government bill is rejected by Parliament, some in the Government will complain and shift the blame to MPs. But that’s not how this story works…
