Two hotels are set to open in central Nicosia’s Makarios Avenue area, with development work expected to begin soon.
The former Laiki Bank building on Makarios Avenue will be converted into a 168-bed hotel owned by Israel’s Fattal Group, which recently acquired the Grand Resort in Limassol and operates other hotels across Paphos, Larnaca, Protaras and Limassol.
A second 70-bed boutique hotel will be developed in the former Anastasiades Clinic on Arnaldas Street, adjacent to Makarios Avenue. The building will be renovated rather than demolished, with cleanup work already underway.
The area is also seeing other developments, including a high-rise building next to Zara, three residential buildings by Cyfield, and a new office complex on Evagorou Street.
