The property market is expected to experience a slowdown in growth in 2025 following its post-pandemic surge, as new challenges emerge requiring strategic planning, according to a new industry survey.
Property consultancy Danos International Property Consultants and Valuers forecasts moderate growth over the next two years, with offsetting factors expected to balance negative impacts from external events such as regional conflicts.
High interest rates are expected to decline – as promised by Cypriot banks – whilst demand stabilises and planned construction projects will meet market needs.
The latest survey by Danos International, which polled 300 participants from construction companies, real estate agencies and banking institutions, provides insights into current market conditions, price trends and stakeholder expectations for the coming year.
The market sentiment remains cautiously optimistic, with the majority of respondents viewing current conditions either positively or neutrally. Specifically, 13 per cent and 33 per cent of participants rate the market as “very positive” or “positive” respectively, whilst 37 per cent view it as “stable”. Meanwhile, 17 per cent observe negative market indicators, with no participants reporting a “very negative” outlook.
Looking ahead to 2025, respondents showed measured optimism about the property market’s future. One-third (33 per cent) express optimism about the market’s prospects for the next 12 months, whilst 43 per cent expect market conditions to remain stable. One in four respondents (24 per cent) appear pessimistic about the market outlook for 2025, although no participants indicated deep pessimism.
