The Civil Defence’s Special Disaster Response Unit (EMAK) carried out a rescue operation on Sunday morning to save an injured hunter in a remote area near Delikipos.
Fire Service spokesman Andreas Kettis said that shortly before 9 a.m., EMAK dispatched a team of climbers after receiving reports of a hunter with a leg injury in a difficult-to-access ravine in the rural Delikipos area.
Upon reaching the injured person, rescue teams discovered he had suffered an ankle sprain.
The hunter was placed on a rescue stretcher and carried a considerable distance to a waiting ambulance, which then transported him to hospital, Kettis said.
