Images emerging from Paphos Hospital depict scenes of severe flooding after intense afternoon rains swept through much of Cyprus. Videos show multiple areas within the hospital inundated with water, forming small pools and exposing widespread leaks in the building’s roof. The leaks have caused significant damage to chairs, beds, and medical equipment inside the facility, highlighting critical maintenance concerns.
Heavy rainfall affected nearly the entire Paphos district yesterday afternoon. Local authorities, including police and fire services, responded with rescue operations to free individuals trapped in private vehicles. Several main roads in Paphos transformed into rivers, with torrents of water rushing through streets, carrying debris from sidewalks and open spaces.
Emergency responders remain on high alert as authorities assess the damage and address safety concerns for the public.
