The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday that they had killed Suhail Hussein Husseini, a senior Hezbollah commander, in a strike near Beirut.
According to the IDF statement, Husseini was the head of Hezbollah’s logistics headquarters and played a crucial role in transferring weapons from Iran and distributing them to various Hezbollah units.
“Husseini was also involved in budgeting and logistical management of the organisation’s most sensitive projects, including the operational war plan,” the IDF said.
The Israeli military did not provide details on the precise location or timing of the strike.
Hezbollah, the Lebanon-based militant group and political party, has not immediately commented on the Israeli claim.
