Approximately 100 Cypriot citizens are awaiting information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Cyprus Embassy in Beirut regarding their repatriation from Lebanon amid the regional war.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Theodoros Gotsis told philenews that while 1,000 Cypriots are registered as residents in Lebanon through the connect2cy platform, officials are currently gathering data on those seeking immediate evacuation.

The Greek government responded to a request from Cypriot Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas for a C-130 military transport aircraft to assist in evacuating Cypriots from Lebanon.

Gotsis said that any Cypriots wishing to return should contact the Cyprus Embassy in Beirut or register their details on the connect2cy platform.
