The Department of Forest has issued a warning about strong winds that could increase the risk of forest fires.
Gusts are expected to reach up to 6 on the Beaufort scale from Friday to Sunday.
The Department emphasised the importance of extinguishing fires in their early stages, as firefighting efforts could be challenging or impossible in later stages.
The public is urged to be cautious and avoid actions that could cause fires, such as using tools that generate heat or sparks, burning waste, or throwing away cigarette butts.
The Department also noted that lighting fires within state forests or near their boundaries is prohibited without a permit and can result in a prison sentence or a fine.
Anyone who notices smoke or fire is advised to report it immediately to the nearest Forest Station or call 1407.
