The changes brought about by the June 9 elections to the School Boards due to the reform of Local Government seem to have created some procedural issues regarding the installation of air conditioners in schools, but the Ministry of Education’s design is continuing as planned.
It is worth noting that School Boards are the main body responsible for implementing this project, which is a policy decision.
During a meeting held yesterday at the Ministry of Education with the participation of School Boards and the EAC, the progress made so far in the implementation of the project was examined, and the intention to complete it within the set time frame, i.e., within three years, was reaffirmed.
According to the Ministry, with the return of students and teachers in a few days, air conditioners will be operational in the first schools where they have already been installed, while the plan will continue with the installation of air conditioners in another 50 schools.
In parallel, the upgrade of school buildings, which is necessary and essential, is also underway.
