Great white shark captured by fisherman in Evia, Greece

Relevant News

An incident occurred a few days ago in Porto Lafia, southern Evia, Greece, when a fisherman found a shark entangled in his nets.

According to experts, it is clearly a young great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias).

A related video has already been posted on social media, sparking interest and discussions:

As boatfishing.gr notes, its distinctive features – such as the shape of its head, eyes, and teeth – leave no room for doubt about the species’ identity.

Despite the fact that there are other species of sharks, such as the mako (Isurus oxyrinchus) or Lamia (Lamna Nasus), which may resemble the great white shark, they do not have the same characteristic teeth, confirming that it is indeed a young great white shark.

The capture of a great white shark is a rare phenomenon in Greek waters, making this incident even more noteworthy.
