Three men in custody for Limassol football riot

In a court appearance before the Limassol District Court, three individuals were presented following their arrest by the police yesterday in connection with the disturbances during the football match between Apollon and AEL last Wednesday at the “Alpha Mega” stadium.

The trio, aged 39, 28, and 21, faces charges under the law concerning violence in sports venues and has been placed in custody for four days.

Also, the Fan IDs of all three individuals have been revoked, banning them from football stadiums.

In a related development concerning the same football match, a fourth individual, a 30-year-old man, was formally accused of committing the offence of indecent gestures.

He admitted guilt and a case was registered against him at the Limassol District Court, with a hearing scheduled for February 27, 2024.
